The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong’s severe weather signal arrangement guidelines are as follows:

Standby Signal No. 1

．The unit remains open.

．All activities will be held as usual.

Strong Wind Signal No. 3

．The unit remains open.

．Indoor activities: If the signal is hoisted 2 hours before or during the event, the activities for infant and kindergarten children will be cancelled. Other indoor activities will be held as usual.

．Outdoor and outing activities: If the signal is hoisted 2 hours before or during the event, the outdoor and outing activities will be cancelled. If an activity (including parent-child activities) does not involve infant and kindergarten children, the responsible colleague may assess the actual situation and discuss with the supervisor whether to change it to an indoor activity and continue the activity. The latest activity arrangements will be notified to the participants and their families as soon as possible.

．Online activities: as usual.

Typhoon warning No. 8 or above is in effect.

．All activities will be cancelled.

Amber rainstorm signal

．The unit remains open .

．Indoor and online activities: as usual.

．Outdoor and outing activities: Basically they will be held as usual. If the weather conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, all outdoor and outing activities planned or in progress will be cancelled or terminated.

Red rainstorm signal

．The unit remains open: service users should pay attention to the weather conditions before going to the centre and assess the safety condition on the way to the centre.

．Unit indoor activities:

1. If the signal is hoisted 2 hours before the event, the activities for infant and kindergarten children will be cancelled. Other indoor activities will be held as usual.

2. If the signal is hoisted during the activities, the activities will continue as usual.

．Outdoor and outing activities: If the signal is hoisted 2 hours before or during the event, all the outdoor and outing activities will be cancelled. If an activity (including parent-child activities) does not involve infant and kindergarten children, the responsible colleague may assess the actual situation and discuss with the supervisor whether to change it to an indoor activity and continue the activity. The latest activity arrangements will be notified to the participants and their families as soon as possible.

．Online activities: as usual.

Black rainstorm signal

．The unit is temporarily closed.

．If the signal is hoisted 2 hours before the event, all the activities will be cancelled.

．If the signal is hoisted during the indoor and online activities, the activities will continue as usual.

．If the signal is hoisted during the outdoor and outing activities, all the outdoor and outing activities will be cancelled.

．For the safety of service users, they should stay in a safe place until the warning is lifted and weather conditions permit, then they can leave and return home.

Thunderstorm warning and district thunderstorm warning issued (thunderstorm forecast in the district will affect the activity venue)

．The unit remains open.

．Indoor and online activities: as usual.

．Outdoors and outings:

1. If the signal is hoisted 2 hours before the event, the activities will be cancelled or continued as usual according to the weather conditions. Participants are advised to inquire the service units for the latest activity arrangements.

2. If the signal is hoisted during the event, please pay attention to the latest activity arrangements of the unit. If the weather conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly, the activity needs to be terminated immediately.
